Even if you could do it alone, why would you want to?
Find your Scott's, Podcast Season 1 over, launch decisions for the book!
Happy Sunday, or Saturday. At the moment I take Sundays as a mainly solo day, to think and reflect — the Sabbath. Keeping with the short, to-the-point format of the Doorman Substack, check out the below wrap for this week.
Coming Up…
For the book 18 & Lost? So Were We, we had some fun (cough, cough) this week learning about image rights. Time to re-do a lot of the book’s visuals! It was a productive week however, as we are now getting a second editor for a proofread, touching up the author’s voices, our website, and now … trying to lock in a launch date!
Also, have been getting an early, hand-selected first cohort together for the Constant Student (invite only) — this has been incredibly exciting.
What I’ve Been Thinking About…
Inspired by a conversation with two friends, I tried to articulate the point of the Constant Student and the most vital ingredient for a good learning journey and life. It’s not a book. It’s not a degree. It’s a “Scott”. Read more here about how one friend has changed the trajectory of my life in countless areas.
The interconnection of all things is related to curiosity (been reading a lot of Da Vinci).
The one who is most interested is the one who wins.
What the building of the Eiffel Tower teaches us about innovation, and why people protest against things they don’t understand.
Truth is relative — and that reality is liberating (thanks Robby).
There was more, but heck, I’m about to leave for my grandmother’s 80th.
Reading Recommendations
Leonardo Da Vinci by Walter Isaacson. Holy moley. This Da Vinci fellow has so much to teach us all. I have 130 pages to go.
Humankind: A Hopeful History by Rutger Bregman — phenomenal, challenging most of the scientific and anecdotal evidence that mankind is inherently evil, from Milgram’s experiments to Lord of the Flies.
Note: I give close friends and Constant Student Community members access to my reading list on Notion, which includes notes on all I read in a searchable database.
Podcast Updates
Yesterday closed Season 1 of With Joe Wehbe Podcast — 121 episodes from November 13th to March 13th. Every day.
I’m changing the format going forward, which I’ll keep you guys posted about. For now, the last episode was a moving one to film, and you can find it here on Youtube or wherever you like to listen to podcasts, be it Spotify, Apple Podcasts or elsewhere.
Roles and Opportunities
Check out roles at ThisApp — a company I hope will change the world massively for the better. They are looking for Backend Engineers and Mobile Engineers.
Question of the Week: What would you perform for an Audience-of-None?
What job would you do, project would you start, role would you carry out, song would you sing, or performance you’d give for an empty theatre … where the only applause you received at the end was your own?
What would still be worth doing if no one ever paid or praised you for it?
Subscribe if you’re new.
And share if you think this post could Open Doors for others.
